OUR FIRST OPENING
28th october 2021
Welcome to the exhibition [Ar: Acervo Rotativo] at Oficina Cultural Oswald de Andrade, which has the support of Adelina Instituto. This exhibition presents a group of 279 artists, each exhibiting just one work measuring up to 5x5cm or up to 5x5x5 cm. Here, it is possible to immerse yourself in the poetics of these artists, a dive into another dimension where centimeters are lost and the gestures and research of each artist gain a prominent place. We also notice the richness of the poetics, the diversity and how the sum transforms the whole into something extraordinary. It is a silent exhibition, full of surprises and mysteries. In essence, [Ar: Acervo Rotativo] demonstrates a generous outlook, a care in creating this space of equivalences, forming a large collection of contemporary and independent art. The works in this small format allow for different ways of being exhibited, presenting a significant number of works, in contrast to a low operational cost - which results in a dynamic partnership with cultural institutions, without space limits (physical or territorial). Artists from other nationalities such as New Zealand, Argentina, Uruguay, Belgium and the Netherlands also integrate their works into the collection in an equivalent way, and in this group, there are no distinctions, the whole is transformed into a single language. In this exhibition, the works are presented in chronological order, from the first received in 2019, to the last that was incorporated during the assembly of this exhibition, totaling the participation of 279 artists and collectives from different cities and countries. On the Instagram platform, we make available all the images of the works that make up this collection, with the technical sheet and direct link to the artists. Still on IGTV, you can access the videos in which the guest artists present themselves and tell a brief story about their production for this project. [Ar: Acervo Rotativo] continues to collect works, adding artists, covering territorial networks and filling gaps. This collection is ours, with great pride.
